Our Story

Where It All Began

Oz Linemarking, an established Australian company with deep roots, traces its heritage back to New Zealand in 1976. The journey began when Eric Clark started working at a road marking business, which he later acquired with his wife Glennis, leading to the formation of Roadmarkers Waikato (1981) Limited.

In 1997, two sons, Wayne Rouse and Brent Rouse, ventured to Australia to explore business opportunities in the linemarking industry, culminating in the establishment of Oz Linemarking. Wayne, driven by a strong desire to be in Australia, fulfilled his ambition by overseeing the creation and subsequent management of Oz Linemarking.

During the initial stages, another brother, Dennis, a mechanical engineer and roadmarker, joined Wayne in constructing linemarking units for trucks and carrying out linemarking. Together with Brent, they applied their diverse skills, ensuring a successful launch and proper preparation for the business’s growth.

In 2000, Wayne temporarily returned to New Zealand, and Ian Clark took over the management until Wayne’s return in 2013. Today, Wayne serves as the General Manager of Oz Linemarking, while Dennis has returned to Roadmarkers New Zealand.

The company has experienced substantial growth, establishing branches in NSW and QLD in addition to its head office in Dandenong South, Victoria. This expansion enables Oz Linemarking to provide linemarking services to customers across Australia. Despite the steady growth, the company maintains its familial essence, emphasizing a customer-focused approach that Wayne believes is integral to its success. Many employees have been part of the business for two decades or more, highlighting the company’s close-knit culture.
